Crazy flames & Pops on new VW GOLF 8 GTI BOSCH SIMOS19.6 ECU

One of our customers came to us asking to create a flames map file for his customer’s car.

Normally the air/fuel mixture gets ignited into the cylinder chamber before TDC (top dead center). In order to get flames we need to delay the fuel cut on deceleration. We need to make the mixture richer and ignite the air/fuel mixture after TDC (when the exhaust valve opens). This way the flame can travel through the exhaust valve into the exhaust system.

After some revisions, we finally made it as our customer wanted. See the videos below for flames.

*Important: keep in mind that it’s needed to have straight flowing exhaust without any limitations like a catalyst, muffler, etc.
